Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys

a barren landscape, the sun centered, setting behind a small mountain. a white silhouette of a spider overlays the landscape 08/2025

I admit, I slept on Danger Days. I've been a fan of MCR for a couple years and it took me way too long to listen to it. It's truly such a great Summertime album. They did a super great job with the vibe curation on this one, like always. Favourite track: Save Yourself, I'll Hold Them Back

Arrivals and Departures

I decided to listen to this album a long time after I started loving Silverstein, and fell in love with it. I seriously have no idea why it isn't as popular as When Broken is Easily Fixed or Discovering the Waterfront. What I love about it is how it feels more melodic(?) compared to their other music. Now it's probably my favorite Silverstein album. Favourite track: Here Today, Gone Tomorrow

Infinity On High

I became obsessed with this album for a while in May-June. Every song is seriously such a banger. I had mostly just listened to From Under The Cork Tree (20th anniversary edition coming digitally soon btw) and I had no idea what I was missing out on... I love Patrick Stump's voice in this album, he is really talented. Favourite track: I'm Like A Lawyer With The Way I'm Always Trying To Get You Off (Me & You)

I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love.

I actually grieve this album in it's off-season. I only listen to it in autumn, because the vibe is SO GOOD. This band's music is timeless and I think it will always resonate with teens as it has the past 20 years, even when teens are complaining about their parents not buying them the best model of flying car. The members of My Chemical Romance are just the most talented artists. Favourite track: Demolition Lovers

Reason EP

This is made by my brother. It's nice and chill so it's great to study with. You should totally listen to it. I don't listen to a lot of lower-energy music, so it is nice to come back to when I need that. Plus it sounds cool and gives me a good feeling. Favourite track: 020119

Home, Like Noplace Is There

A large white house on a misty day, with the title of the album spray painted on the siding 07/2023

The first time I listened to this album, it dropped me into a week-long state of sadness and existential dread. I can't listen to it much because of this, but just because it had that effect of me goes to show how great it is. The singer's raw emotion comes across so loudly, and the music itself compliments his vocals so beautifully. Is it too vague to just say this album makes sense? Favourite track: Life In Drag

Misadventures

Red ink doodles of knives, bombs, spaceships, saws, drugs, and other dangerous materials on a white paper background 06/2023

This album is still my favorite of Pierce The Veil's, but it is very close with Selfish Machines. I love it as a summertime album. I just love this band, they are so wholesome and make truly such good music. Pierce The Veil is what got me into hardcore music in general, and I just have to give them credit for that by saying they are my favourite band. I want to see them live someday, but I'm not sure I'll get to, which makes me so emo I fall apart. Favourite track: Bedless

Wake

three interesting skeleton bird creatures wearing robes gather round a coffin with a live grasshopper/alien guy laying down happily 05/2023

I first listened to Wake after discovering just one of their songs. I loved it right away. But after discovering my favourite youtuber's (Drew Gooden) favourite band is Hail The Sun, I had to listen to more. Elephantitis is unmatched. The talent in this band is unreal. Especially when I found out after way too long, that their singer is also their drummer. At the same time. I'm going to see them live, and I couldn't be more excited. Favourite track: Jane Doe

Adrenaline

I still love listenening to Deftones while doing homework or concentrating on anything. Adrenaline is my favourite of their albums. I love the guitar tones and the emotion in it. It melts in my brain. I recently saw Deftones in concert; I kinda forgot how good Engine No. 9 is... It gave me a neck injury. Favourite track: Engine No. 9

how i'm feeling now

charli xcx in white underwear laying on her bed looking at a videocamera 2020

My brother first showed the forever music video to me when it came out. I thought it was so cool how she had shifted her music path to a less mainstream genre, even though I didn't know much about Charli xcx. When I heard about how she started making music at such a young age, I loved her even more. This album is amazing, and it feels like an actual step into her thoughts and feelings. Favourite track: party 4 u

WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?

billie eilish with white eyes in a white outfit sitting on a white bed and smiling in a dark room 2019

I was immediately fascinated when I first heard Billie Eilish's music. I wish I could listen to her music for the first time at 11 years old again. I had no idea music could even sound like this. She was so inspiring to me. And now I'm the age she was when making this album... haha. This album is so good, definitely the best Billie Eilish album. Favourite track: all the good girls go to hell

16 / 04 / 16

a nostalgic photo of a kid superimposed over the siding of a house 2019

This is the very first album I saved on Spotify. I'm not entirely sure when I started using Spotify, but 2018-2019 is my best guess. I remember feeling genuinely changed when I first listened to Cavetown. His voice was so unique, and the storytelling was unlike anything I'd ever heard in music before., and he inspired me to write my own songs when I was really young too. I still love playing his songs on my ukulele. Plus, Cavetown is who got me into Pierce The Veil. Favourite track: Nostalgia in my BedRoom
